DJ GRUFF BIO:
Sandro Orrù, in arte DJ Gruff (8 gennaio 1968), è uno dei pionieri della Old School Hip Hop italiana. Noto per l'originalità nella reinterpretazione delle tecniche dello scratch e del rap, DJ Gruff si esprime nella cultura Hip Hop come turntablist, DJ, beatmaker, rapper e produttore.
La sua carriera inizia nel 1982. Negli anni ha fatto parte di diverse formazioni storiche: The Place to Be (con Next One, Carrie D, Igor, Nando-Boogie e Mr Hyde), Casino Royale (Alioscia Bisceglia, Giuliano Palma, Michele Pauli, Ferdinando Masi), Radical Stuff (DJ Skizo, Soul Boy, Sean, Top Cat e Kaos One), Isola Posse All Stars, Sangue Misto e Alien Army.
Il suo album d’esordio, “La Rapadopa” (1993), è un disco di culto che inaugura la Golden Age del rap italiano, la quale raggiunge il suo apice l'anno successivo con i Sangue Misto (DJ Gruff, Neffa e Deda) e la pubblicazione dell’album “SxM”, universalmente riconosciuto come pietra miliare dell'Hip Hop nazionale.
Con una produzione vastissima e in continua evoluzione, DJ Gruff continua a collaborare con musicisti, MC, breaker e writers di tutto il mondo, mantenendo viva l'essenza di questa cultura. Dal 2018 guida la Gotcha Records, etichetta 100% hip hop creata per curare direttamente le proprie produzioni, su formato fisico e digitale.
